Help Save Blue Owl Fundraiser

MFP donated $1000 to the Help Save Blue Owl fundraiser to support a local community member and MFP volunteer after a devastating flood.

A massive flood originating from the upstairs space of the building in which Blue Owl Bookstore is located caused extensive damage, leaving the owners heartbroken and uncertain about the future. The water poured in for hours, soaking everything and destroying nearly two-thirds of her inventory.

Kimba and Chud have taken immediate steps to salvage what they can, renting a storage locker to save any remaining items, but the loss is overwhelming. With the store closed indefinitely and no income to rely on, she is facing a challenging road ahead—both financially and emotionally.

Blue Owl has been more than just a store; it’s been a passion, a community space, and a labor of love. Our hope is that the building will be repaired and she can eventually return.
